UNPAK — In an effort to strengthen synergy and enhance the professionalism of information services, the Central Library of Pakuan University organized an event titled “Lively Discussion Among Pakuan University Librarians” at the Graduate School Library meeting room. The event brought together librarians from all faculties and schools within the university to discuss strategies for enhancing excellent service for students and lecturers.
The event was attended by Dr. Aries Mahesa, Head of the Information Systems Planning Agency at Pakuan University, who discussed the development of library information systems through the implementation of the Senayan Library Management System (SLiMS) as a strategic step toward service digitalization. He emphasized the importance of integrating SLiMS in each faculty library with the university’s information system, enabling centralized and real-time access to bibliographic data, memberships, and collection circulation.
“The implementation of SLiMS is not merely about administrative digitalization; it is an integral part of a unified academic information system. With proper integration, we can realize data-driven library services and enhance the user experience for both students and lecturers,” said Dr. Aries Mahesa.

In his remarks, Wildan Fauzi Mubarock, Head of the Central Library of Pakuan University, expressed his appreciation for the collaboration and commitment of all faculty librarians in building an integrated and high-quality library service.
“The Central Library cannot operate alone. Synergy with all faculty librarians is the key to achieving excellent service for both students and lecturers,” he stated.
The discussion proceeded in a warm and productive atmosphere, covering topics such as strengthening students’ information literacy, optimizing the use of SLiMS technology in user services, and improving collaboration among library units.
Separately, Prof. Dr. rer. pol. Ir. Didik Notosudjono, M.Sc., IPU., ASEAN Eng., APEC Eng., Rector of Pakuan University, conveyed his message and hopes for all librarians:
“The library is the heart of the university. In this digital era, librarians must be agents of change and facilitators of knowledge.
