UNPAK, June 13, 2026 – The Pharmacy Study Program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Pakuan University, held an inspiring podcast at the Central Library of Pakuan University featuring Anugerah Bhakti Ananda, a 2021 Pharmacy alumnus who successfully earned the First Class Chinese Government Scholarship (CGS) to pursue a Master’s degree in Clinical Pharmacy at Nantong University, China.

The podcast served as a platform for sharing experiences and motivating students, particularly regarding academic journeys, the process of obtaining international scholarships, and opportunities to pursue higher education abroad. During the session, the speaker shared valuable insights and practical tips that are expected to inspire students to continuously develop their potential and achieve excellence on a global scale.

In addition to discussing his academic journey and scholarship experience, the podcast also highlighted the importance of enhancing the competencies of Pharmacy students in response to the rapid advancement of science and technology in the healthcare sector. Students were encouraged to maintain a strong passion for learning, develop adaptability, and actively participate in academic and extracurricular activities that can support their future careers.

This event reflects the commitment of the Pharmacy Study Program, FMIPA Pakuan University, to providing an educational and inspiring platform for the academic community. Through the podcast format, information can be delivered in a more interactive and engaging way, enabling it to reach a wider audience of students and members of the public who are interested in learning from the real-life experiences of accomplished alumni.

Holding the podcast at the Central Library of Pakuan University also demonstrates that the library is not only a place for reading and accessing references, but has evolved into a hub for literacy activities, academic discussions, podcasts, seminars, and scholarly collaboration. The library serves as an open and inclusive space that can be utilized by all faculties and study programs to support the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education.

UNPAK — National literary critic Maman S. Mahayana has expressed his appreciation for the creative works of the Head of the Central Library of Pakuan University, which embrace the concept of “Music–Poetry–Life Stories.” The appreciation was conveyed during the discussion session titled “Exploring the Works: Music–Poetry–Life Stories”, organized by the Indonesian Language and Literature Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), Pakuan University, at Gramedia Botani Square on May 22, 2026.

In his remarks, Maman noted that the works present a unique blend of music, poetry, and life experiences, crafted in a deeply personal and emotional manner. He emphasized that the works go beyond conventional poetry musicalization, offering instead a distinctive form of artistic expression that integrates musical rhythm, poetic texts, and life narratives into a unified and meaningful whole.

According to Maman, the work was not created to challenge any particular musical genre or to demonstrate the superiority of poetry. Rather, it serves as a creative space that represents human experiences, particularly those related to childhood, family, love, loss, and life’s memories. He noted that the strength of the work lies in its ability to transform simple life experiences into artistic and emotionally meaningful expressions.

Maman also highlighted the important role of poetry within the work, which is further enriched by musical rhythm. He observed that the relationship between music, poetry, and life stories is constructed in an integrated manner, allowing the emotional message to resonate more deeply with listeners.

In his review, Maman compared this creative approach to the works of renowned musicians and poets such as Rhoma Irama, Ebiet G. Ade, Iwan Fals, and Bob Dylan, all of whom are widely recognized for the lyrical depth and social messages embedded in their works. However, he emphasized that the creative works of the Head of the Central Library of Pakuan University are not intended to compete with these prominent figures, but rather represent an initial step toward building a distinctive creative identity and artistic expression.

In addition to appreciating the overall concept, Maman noted that the themes explored are closely connected to everyday life and resonate strongly with the public. Several works, including “Mother and Me,” “Childhood,” “About My Feelings at That Time,” and “Shattered,” were praised for their ability to evoke nostalgia, emotional wounds, family affection, and personal experiences that are easily understood by audiences.

For Maman, the courage to present a work that bridges multiple forms of expression deserves recognition, as it represents a new creative approach that combines literature, music, and reflections on life within a single artistic medium. He expressed hope that the work will inspire more people to continue creating and to explore new paths of creativity within Indonesia’s artistic and cultural landscape.

UNPAK — Bumi Siliwangi, June 5, 2026 – The Library of Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI), in collaboration with the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), successfully organized a National Seminar and Workshop entitled “AI-Based Knowledge Ecosystem: Leveraging AI for Managing Data and Learning Resources – Practical Strategies for Librarians and Educators.” The two-day event, held on June 4–5, 2026, took place onsite at the UPI Library Auditorium, Jl. Dr. Setiabudhi No. 299, Bandung.

The event officially commenced at 08:30 WIB with opening remarks from the Head of the UPI Library, Dr. Riche Cynthia Johan, M.Si. In her speech, Dr. Riche emphasized that the adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in academic environments is no longer merely a supporting option. Instead, it has become an urgent necessity in modern library management to optimize both the efficiency and accuracy of managing digital learning resources.

A similar message of appreciation and support was delivered by the university leadership through Prof. Dr. Vanessa Gaffar, S.E., Ak., MBA, Vice Rector for Education and Quality Assurance at UPI. Although she was unable to attend the event in person, Prof. Vanessa shared her strategic remarks through a recorded video message. She emphasized that this cross-institutional collaboration represents a significant step forward in strengthening technological literacy competencies among academics in Indonesia.

The plenary session was moderated by Dian Arya Susanti, M.T. and began with a keynote speech by Prof. Dr. Julia, M.Pd. from the Directorate of Curriculum Development, Digital Learning, Artificial Intelligence, and Metaverse of UPI. The discussion on the data ecosystem was then further enriched by two distinguished national experts: Irhamni Ali, S.Hum., M.P., Ph.D. from the National Library of Indonesia and Hendro Subagyo, M.Eng. from the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN).

To provide participants with more practical and applicable technical skills, the program continued with three parallel workshop sessions following the plenary discussion:

  • Class 1 (39 participants): Exploring the standardization and quality of digital ecosystems, led by Dr. Erwin Rahayu Saputra, M.Pd., Head of the Quality Assurance Unit at UPI Tasikmalaya Campus.

  • Class 2 (69 participants): Examining practical strategies for academic data management under the guidance of Dr. Muh. Asriadi AM, M.Pd., Lecturer at UPI Cibiru Campus.

  • Class 3 (28 participants): Focusing on research data integration and information literacy with Dwiyanto Wahyu Ari Nugroho, S.Sos., representing the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN).

These workshop sessions enabled participants to gain hands-on experience and deepen their understanding of AI-driven approaches to managing data and learning resources in academic and library environments.

Through intensive simulations in each workshop class, a total of 139 participants were given the opportunity to apply AI tools directly for processing scientific data, enabling more effective, measurable, and accurate workflows within their respective institutions.

The two-day event, fully supported by iGroup and Refika Aditama, concluded successfully. This strategic collaboration between UPI and BRIN is expected to strengthen the readiness of Indonesia’s library and education sectors in responding to the rapid advancement of global technology in a wise, responsible, and sustainable manner.

UNPAK — In an effort to strengthen synergy and enhance the professionalism of information services, the Central Library of Pakuan University organized an event titled “Lively Discussion Among Pakuan University Librarians” at the Graduate School Library meeting room. The event brought together librarians from all faculties and schools within the university to discuss strategies for enhancing excellent service for students and lecturers.

The event was attended by Dr. Aries Mahesa, Head of the Information Systems Planning Agency at Pakuan University, who discussed the development of library information systems through the implementation of the Senayan Library Management System (SLiMS) as a strategic step toward service digitalization. He emphasized the importance of integrating SLiMS in each faculty library with the university’s information system, enabling centralized and real-time access to bibliographic data, memberships, and collection circulation.

“The implementation of SLiMS is not merely about administrative digitalization; it is an integral part of a unified academic information system. With proper integration, we can realize data-driven library services and enhance the user experience for both students and lecturers,” said Dr. Aries Mahesa.

Also in attendance were Coordinators and Heads of Faculty Libraries at Pakuan University, including:

  • Ajie Rubani Jasmin, S.H. – Coordinator of the Faculty of Law Library

In his remarks, Wildan Fauzi Mubarock, Head of the Central Library of Pakuan University, expressed his appreciation for the collaboration and commitment of all faculty librarians in building an integrated and high-quality library service.

“The Central Library cannot operate alone. Synergy with all faculty librarians is the key to achieving excellent service for both students and lecturers,” he stated.

The discussion proceeded in a warm and productive atmosphere, covering topics such as strengthening students’ information literacy, optimizing the use of SLiMS technology in user services, and improving collaboration among library units.

Separately, Prof. Dr. rer. pol. Ir. Didik Notosudjono, M.Sc., IPU., ASEAN Eng., APEC Eng., Rector of Pakuan University, conveyed his message and hopes for all librarians:

“The library is the heart of the university. In this digital era, librarians must be agents of change and facilitators of knowledge. UNPAK Explores Japanese Culture Through TV Dramas & Pop Songs in a Cultural Gathering

The Faculty of Social and Cultural Sciences (FISIB) at Pakuan University (UNPAK) once again held a cultural gathering with the theme “Understanding Japanese Society through Visual Data: From Japanese TV Dramas and Pop Songs.” The event was attended by lecturers and students from the Japanese Literature and Indonesian Literature Study Programs.

Moderated by Mugiyanti, M.Si., the event featured Raphaella Dewantari Dwianto, MA., Ph.D., a Japanese culture expert, who presented how Japanese popular culture—particularly TV dramas and pop songs—can serve as a window into understanding Japanese society. Using a data visualization approach, participants were invited to examine the social realities behind entertainment media.

One of the main highlights was the drama “Nigeru wa Haji da ga Yaku ni Tatsu” (We Married as a Job), which addresses issues such as employment, gender roles, and the redefinition of marriage as an institution. The drama illustrates how Japanese popular culture not only entertains but also subtly delivers social critique.

In addition to the content of the drama, the Koi Dance—popularized by the show’s theme song—also drew attention. Through visual data, Raphaella demonstrated how this Japanese cultural trend spread internationally via social media. This phenomenon showcases the power of Japanese popular culture as a form of soft diplomacy, fostering cross-cultural connections.

The event became even more engaging with an interactive discussion involving both lecturers and students. Participants were encouraged to see Japanese popular culture not merely as entertainment but as a meaningful cultural study. Popular media plays an important role in shaping public opinion and introducing Japanese culture to the international stage.

This gathering marked a concrete step by FISIB UNPAK in broadening students’ understanding of cross-cultural studies through the lens of popular media. With the right approach, Japanese culture can serve as an entry point for deeper insights into the character and social realities of its people.

Bogor — The Central Library of Pakuan University now has a fresh new look. A simple mini café has been set up in one corner of the room, offering a more relaxed atmosphere for students.

Since the introduction of this mini café concept, the library environment has become more vibrant. With the addition of tables and comfortable seating, the library is no longer just a quiet space. Students are seen enjoying their time reading, working on assignments, or having discussions while soaking in a café-like ambiance. Modern bookshelves and aesthetic decorations further enhance the space, making the library a new favorite spot among learners.

At this mini café, visitors can enjoy a variety of affordable menu items such as hot tea, coffee, hot chocolate, toast, and more. These offerings are designed to accompany students’ study activities without disturbing the quiet atmosphere of the library.

Not only serving as a reading space, the mini café in the library is also equipped with supporting facilities like power outlets and a cozy corner, enhancing the comfort for visitors who come to work on assignments or simply relax.

[Rinews] – Since 2004, the Pakuan University Library has been undergoing continuous transformation to improve its services and facilities. Today, the library presents a modern concept that prioritizes comfort, offering a variety of supporting facilities for learning and discussion activities. Relaxation reading areas, thematic bookshelves, comfortable discussion rooms, and a mini café are all part of the effort to create a more engaging and interactive atmosphere for the academic community.

This transformation is part of the university’s commitment to increasing reading interest, academic productivity, and creating a more inspiring learning space. With modern wooden interiors, warm lighting, and neatly organized book collections, the library provides a conducive environment for both studying and discussion.

Strategically located in the Pakuan University campus area in Bogor, the library is designed to be easily accessible by students, faculty, and staff from various departments. One notable feature is the special “Faculty Works” shelf, displaying a variety of scholarly works, books, and journals authored by Pakuan University lecturers, which adds academic value and highlights their contributions.

In addition, various digital facilities such as an online catalog and tablets on several tables are available to facilitate quick and efficient information searches. Not only does the Pakuan University Library prioritize physical comfort, but it also focuses on ensuring easy access to information for its users.

One visitor, Inas, a fourth-semester student from the Faculty of Law, shared her thoughts. “In my opinion, the library at UNPAK is now very comfortable for doing assignments, the atmosphere is supportive, and the design is aesthetic. Unfortunately, the opening hours are still limited, only until 4 PM, so I often can’t fully take advantage of it,” she said. She hopes that in the future, the operating hours will be extended so more students can enjoy the available facilities.

With these various changes, the Pakuan University Library continues to show its commitment to becoming a modern, comfortable, and inspiring learning center for the entire academic community.

Inside the library, students have access to tables and chairs that can be used for various activities such as reading books, completing assignments, and engaging in group discussions. In addition, computer facilities are available for students to work on their tasks.

The Pakuan University Library also features a café offering a variety of food and beverages, which students can enjoy while studying. The menu is affordably priced, ranging from Rp.10,000 to Rp.20,000.

Bogor, April 24, 2025 – The Pakuan University Library welcomed a visit from librarians and leaders of Bina Sarana Informatika University (UBSI) as part of a comparative study aimed at improving the quality of library services and preparing for optimal library accreditation. The event took place in a warm and collaborative atmosphere, serving as a strategic forum for exchanging experiences and best practices in university library management.

During the visit, the UBSI delegation was welcomed directly by the Head of the Central Library of Pakuan University, Mr. Wildan Fauzi Mubarock, M.Pd. The agenda included in-depth discussions on technology-based library service management, space and facility optimization, digital collection development, and innovative approaches to user services. A key focus of the visit was also an in-depth review of library accreditation instruments as an initial step in UBSI’s strategic planning toward accreditation.

The library accreditation instrument became a significant topic of discussion, with both parties reviewing together the eight main components of the accreditation assessment:

  1. Collection – covering the availability and currency of both print and digital resources.

  2. Services – including accessibility, user satisfaction, and the range of services offered.

  3. Human Resources – the competence and professionalism of librarians as the frontline of service.

  4. Facilities and Infrastructure – the completeness and comfort of the physical library environment.

  5. Organization and Management – the effectiveness of governance, SOPs, and library information systems.

  6. Governance Strengthening – including internal regulations and alignment with institutional vision.

  7. Innovation and Creativity – implementation of creative programs that support information literacy.

  8. Impact of Services on Users – the extent to which library services provide tangible benefits to the academic community.

During the visit, the UBSI team also had the opportunity to observe various service areas at Pakuan University Library firsthand. Key areas of interest included collective and individual reading rooms, multimedia services, access to the digital repository, an automated circulation system, and various other facilities designed for user comfort.

This comparative study not only served as a platform for practical learning but also strengthened the network among university libraries, enabling mutual support in improving service quality and achieving accreditation goals. With the insights and experiences gained during the visit, UBSI Library is expected to adopt various approaches tailored to its institutional needs and aligned with national accreditation standards.

The event concluded with the presentation of a souvenir from UBSI to Pakuan University as a token of appreciation for the warm welcome and openness in sharing information. A group photo session marked the end of this highly collaborative and enthusiastic activity.

Through this comparative study, both UBSI and Pakuan University hope to continuously enhance the quality of libraries as centers of learning, sources of information, and hubs for information literacy development within the academic community.

UNPAK –The Head of the Central Library of Universitas Pakuan, Wildan Fauzi Mubarock, M.Pd, was invited to attend the Grand Launching of BYC Library and a book discussion held by Universitas Djuanda on March 17, 2025. The event was organized to celebrate the 38th Anniversary of Universitas Djuanda, marking an important moment to strengthen the commitment to the development of education and literacy in Indonesia.

The Grand Launching of BYC Library was the highlight of the event, where this library was designed to become a modern and accessible information resource center for the entire academic community. With its advanced facilities and diverse collection, BYC Library is expected to support the development of knowledge and increase reading interest among students and the public.

In addition to the launching event, Universitas Djuanda also held a book discussion session that focused on relevant themes about the development of literacy and writing in Indonesia. During the event, Wildan Fauzi Mubarock expressed his appreciation for Universitas Djuanda’s efforts in introducing new innovations in the library world.

“I highly appreciate the launch of BYC Library. A library is not just a place to find books, but also a platform to build a better literacy culture. I hope that with this facility, we can further encourage the increase of reading interest and literacy among students and the wider community,” said Wildan Fauzi Mubarock.

Wildan Fauzi Mubarock also hopes that the event will strengthen relationships among universities and expand collaborations in the fields of literacy and education. “I hope that cooperation and synergy between universities will become stronger, so that we can together contribute to the advancement of education in our country,” he added.
