Fostering Environmental Awareness from an Early Age, FKIP Unpak Library Holds Storytelling Session for Elementary School Students Across Kota Tangerang District

Through a storytelling session on environmental cleanliness, the FKIP Unpak Library, together with Ruang Niskala and the Kota Tangerang District Office, invited children to learn, care, and develop the habit of keeping their surroundings clean from an early age. Because a clean environment begins with small acts of awareness that we take together.

Tangerang, September 25, 2026 — The Library of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) at Universitas Pakuan (Unpak) participated in a social activity through an educational storytelling session on environmental cleanliness, held on Friday, September 25, 2026, at the Hall of the Kota Tangerang District Office.
The activity was part of the FKIP Unpak Library’s contribution to providing educational activities that engage directly with the community, particularly in raising awareness among children about the importance of maintaining a clean and sustainable environment from an early age.
The storytelling session featured Rima Nadya Shafwah and Iis Rahayu, fifth-semester students of Biology Education, as storytellers. Through an interactive and engaging storytelling approach, they delivered educational messages about environmental cleanliness in a way that was enjoyable and easy for children to understand.
The social activity was organized through a collaboration between the FKIP Unpak Library, Ruang Niskala, and the Kota Tangerang District Office. This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to providing educational activities that bring positive benefits to the community.
Approximately 50 elementary school students from schools across Kota Tangerang District participated in the activity enthusiastically. In addition to enjoying the stories, the participants were encouraged to understand the importance of maintaining environmental cleanliness, disposing of waste properly, and developing clean and healthy habits in their daily lives.
Through this activity, the FKIP Unpak Library demonstrated that the role of a library extends beyond serving as a center for information and literacy. Libraries can also serve as spaces for developing educational, creative, and social activities that create a positive impact on the community.
The storytelling activity is expected to become one of the tangible contributions of the Universitas Pakuan academic community in promoting literacy while fostering environmental awareness among children from an early age.
