Greeny Program: Environmental Awareness Education Activities for High School/Vocational School Students

UNPAK — The Public Relations and Promotion Unit of Pakuan University through the Unpak Social Movement Program held a social activity with the theme of environmental education and climate change at SMKN 3 Bogor City, Saturday, October 11, 2025. The activity was entitled “GREENY PROGRAM”, Generating Resilience through Environmental for Youth.

The aim of the activities carried out is to build a young generation that is resilient and has knowledge and concern for the environment.

This activity is a collaboration between the Unpak Social Movement and the Sadjiwa Community, a community of young environmental activists and advocates. The GREENY PROGRAM will be conducted as a roadshow to various high schools and vocational schools in Bogor.

The first GREENY PROGRAM activity was conducted at SMKN 3 Bogor City. The activities included:

1. Environmentally friendly school training targeting teachers

2. Talk shows and experimental learning through environmental educational games for students.

The training participants were 30 teachers and 40 students from SMKN 3 Bogor City. The resource person for the eco-friendly school training was Dr. Sri Wahyuni, MP, from the Environmental Management Study Program at the Pakuan University Graduate School.

The event was opened by the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs of Pakuan University, Prof. Dr. Hj. Eri Sarimanah, M.Pd. In her remarks, Prof. Eri emphasized the importance of young people’s environmental awareness for sustainable development.

Prof. Eri also provided support so that the program could be run sustainably, and opened up opportunities for collaboration with Pakuan University for other programs that could be carried out at the school.

As a representative of the teachers of SMKN 3 Bogor, Mrs. Afid , said that in 2025 SMKN 3 Bogor is participating in the prestigious Gapura Panca Waluya competition for educational units and individuals in West Java Province.

The competition was held to appreciate the implementation of the “Panca Waluya” character education concept.

One of the assessment categories is school environmental cleanliness. The GREENY PROGRAM activities are highly appropriate to support SMKN 3 Bogor’s participation in the Gapura Panca Waluya competition.

The material presented by Dr. Sri Wahyuni ​​at this activity emphasized the importance of managing organic and inorganic waste in schools. As a biogas expert, Dr. Sri Wahyuni ​​provided teachers with insights into utilizing organic waste as a biogas energy source. The training participants were very enthusiastic about the material.

Students of SMKN 3 Bogor also actively participated in the GREENY PROGRAM. The talk show and environmental education games, initiated by the Sadjiwa community, were divided into four types: ocean zone, jungle action, climate impact, and creative campaign.

Each game provides students with experimental learning to deal with situations that occur in marine environments, forests, and everyday life that are related to environmental sustainability.

This activity also involved the Pakuan University Arts and Culture Student Activity Unit which provided creative artistic performance entertainment to students.

As the closing activity, the Head of Public Relations and Promotion of Pakuan University, Aditya Prima Yudha, S.Pi., MM , gave his appreciation to the best group who had participated in all the activities.
