UNPAK — The Chancellor of Pakuan University (Unpak), Prof. Didik Notosudjono , officially opened the Socialization of New Applications and the Outcome-Based Education (OBE) Workshop held at Graha Pakuan Siliwangi (GPS), 10th Floor, Saturday, September 6, 2025.

In his remarks, Prof. Didik emphasized the importance of strengthening the quality of education to meet national and international accreditation demands, as well as ensuring that Unpak graduates have competencies relevant to global needs.

“This morning’s workshop is part of an academic program to continuously improve the quality of education and teaching in our environment, particularly in responding to national and international accreditation demands, as well as ensuring that Unpak graduates have competencies relevant to global demands, in line with Permendiktisaintek No. 39 of 2025,” he said.

According to Prof. Didik, the rapid development of technology and innovation has created a gap between the world of education and the need for human resources (HR) in the world of work.

Universities are required to be able to bridge this gap through 21st-century education strategies.

One approach that is considered appropriate is Outcome-Based Education (OBE), namely an education system that focuses on learning outcomes (outcomes) rather than just the material delivered.

“OBE measures learning outcomes and enables students to develop new skills that prepare them for the global stage. OBE emphasizes innovative, interactive, and effective learning,” he explained.

He added that graduate success is largely determined by the quality of the learning process. With the implementation of OBE, lecturers are required to be more creative in preparing, implementing, and evaluating teaching and learning activities. Therefore, Unpak has introduced a supporting application to facilitate lecturers in implementing an OBE-based curriculum.

“Through the socialization of this application, I hope all lecturers in study programs can use the OBE curriculum. OBE will become a space for discussion and collective reflection in developing strategies to strengthen the implementation of OBE that is contextual and applicable within the Pakuan University environment,” said Prof. Didik in closing his remarks.

Meanwhile, the Chief Executive and Vice Chancellor I for Academic Affairs, Prof. Eri Sarimanah, emphasized the importance of a shared perception in implementing the new OBE curriculum across all study programs.

“Today’s activities are crucial before the start of the odd semester of 2025–2026. With the new application and several innovations, it will be easier for lecturers to implement the OBE approach.

“Therefore, it is necessary for all of us to gather together across the academic vivitas ranks, including the Vice Rector, Dean, Vice Dean of Academic Affairs, Head of Study Program, and the OBE Task Force. This way, Unpak’s lectures will be based on the OBE curriculum approach, supported by the new application launched today,” he said.

Prof. Eri explained that the issuance of Ministerial Regulation No. 39 of 2025 presents a significant challenge for universities to maintain academic quality to meet global standards and increase international competitiveness. The regulation emphasizes the importance of OBE-based academic quality, which must be implemented by every study program.

“Each study program needs to truly empower its Study Program Quality Assurance Unit (UPMPS). This UPMPS must be optimized because it is required to conduct monitoring and evaluation every semester, with direct reporting to PDDIKTI. In essence, each study program has its own UPMPS, as has been done in each study program. The UPMPS oversees and maintains academic quality in each study program,” he explained.

Furthermore, he emphasized that with the new application, it will be more visible what percentage of CPL and CPMK measurability, the measurability of IKU 7 achievement, this will easily show how many lectures use PBL, case method, or project-based learning methods,” emphasized Prof. Eri.
