Bogor, October 14, 2025 — The Library of the Faculty of Social and Cultural Sciences (FISIB) at Pakuan University held a Book Review event on “Ronggeng Dukuh Paruk”, a masterpiece by renowned Indonesian author Ahmad Tohari. The event, themed “Women Preserving Literature, Culture, Dance, and Language”, took place on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, from 08:00 to 12:00 WIB, at Mashudi Hall, 3rd Floor, FISIB Building.

The discussion featured Naning Pranoto, M.A. as the main speaker — a prominent writer and literary observer with extensive experience in Indonesian literature — and was moderated by Langgeng Prima Anggradinata M.Hum.

This program invited participants to explore the cultural values, linguistic beauty, and role of women in Indonesian literary works through Ahmad Tohari’s Ronggeng Dukuh Paruk. The novel is regarded as a timeless literary classic that not only portrays the lives of rural communities but also reflects the strength of women in preserving cultural heritage, traditional dance, and local language.

Through this activity, FISIB Pakuan University seeks to foster appreciation for Indonesian literature while strengthening the spirit of cultural preservation among students. Beyond its academic value, the event also served as a platform for dialogue and reflection on the importance of literature in understanding the essence of humanity and national culture.

The book review received enthusiastic participation from students and literature enthusiasts. It is hoped that such events will continue to be held regularly to enrich literary insight, strengthen cultural identity, and nurture a love for Indonesian literature within the university community.
